Afternoon Tea

We love the tradition and rituals of afternoon tea at Horwood House. Served from 12 noon until 4:00pm, it includes freshly prepared finger sandwiches, pastries and elaborate cakes served with a choice of tea blends and coffee. Please book in advance – our team will be able to check availability for you by calling 01296 722100.


The nearest airport is Luton which is approximately 40 minutes away by car, Heathrow is just over an hours drive.


For the most important meal of the day, we offer a full hot and cold buffet from a cooked English breakfast to pastries and a continental selection – served in the 1911 restaurant.

Check in & check out

Check in is available from 3pm and Check out is 11am. If you would like to check out after 11am, please speak to Reception as soon as possible to check for availability, charges may apply.

We have a cycle rack located in the stable courtyard.

Business Services

Our business services include photocopying, scanning and printing at a small charge. Please speak to Reception when you arrive if you require any of these services.


Children are always welcome and we have Executive Suites available with a sofa bed suitable for two small children (under 12 only). Some of our Deluxe Rooms can also accommodate a trundle bed (at a cost of £10). As availability is limited, please book in advance by dialling 0 for Reception.

Children under 16 can use our pool facilities from 9:00-10:00am and then from 4:00-6:00pm during our splash times. Children under 16 are not permitted to use the gym or spa lounge areas. Children 13 or over can enjoy a reduced treatment menu and use of the pool during splash times.

Electric Vehicle Charging Points

Our electric charging points are managed by EVC Electric Vehicle chargers. The EVC app makes it simple and easy to pay for your charge. By downloading the app, you gain access to the EVC charging network along with other benefits. You can pay as you go, paying for the electricity you use per charge, or start a EVC membership and access reduced rates for a small monthly fee.

Hygiene & Covid 19

The safety and security of our guests and team members has always been a key priority for us, so we are committed to the highest standards of cleaning and infection control practices. Our Safe Stay policy is a new programme to deliver an industry-defining standard of cleanliness and disinfection. If you feel more comfortable wearing a mask during your stay, then please feel free.

Laundry / Dry Cleaning

Our laundry service has a 24-hour turn-around time. To use it, please contact Reception and ask for Housekeeping. Please note that charges apply, and this service may take longer on weekends and busier periods.

Environmental Policy

We care about our effect on the world around us and are always looking for ways to reduce our impact. From protecting our local wildlife to encouraging our guests and colleagues to switch off unused appliances, light switches and reusing towels. We also have reusable glass water bottles throughout our bedrooms and function spaces (please don’t take them home), and we try to source our produce locally as much as possible.

Local Recommendations

We use an app called Urbaniser to recommend many local places in the area. Gives you lots of recommended places to visit locally all chosen by our team as their own favourites. Just download from your app store for free.

Food & Drink consumption

Please do not consume food and drink that has not been purchased at Horwood House in the grounds, dining rooms, bar, spa and other public areas.

Non Smoking Policy

We operate a full no-smoking policy at the hotel. For guests who wish to smoke, there are designated smoking areas located outside the main entrance. Any evidence of smoking in the room or our public areas will incur a penalty of £250.

Damage Policy

If damage is caused by the guest to hotel property, the hotel reserves the right to reclaim costs for the damaged items as well as loss of earning from the room if it is left unfit for resale.  Minimum charge of £250 will apply. 

DAMAGE DISCOVERED AFTER CHECK-OUT: Guest Rooms found damaged post departure of the guest, the hotel reserves the right to reclaim costs for loss of earnings from the room if it is left unfit for resale as well as the cost of damaged items. 

Use of Illegal Substances

Illegal substances are not permitted within the hotel and guests found in possession or using any illegal substances will be asked to leave the hotel, the hotel reserves the right to reclaim the cost of the earnings from the room if it is left unfit for resale.


Well-behaved, small to medium sized dogs are welcome in designated bedrooms at Horwood House, which are charged at £25.00 per pet and need to be booked in advance with a dog policy form signed. A maximum of two pets are allowed per room and all pets should be on a lead in public areas. Please pick up after them and use the designated dog bins. We also have a designated area within our Harry’s Bar & Kitchen Restaurant for guests with dogs.

Harry's Bar & Kitchen - Lunch & Dinner

Harry’s Bar & Kitchen offers everything from light and refined fish dishes and salads to steaks and dishes from the charcoal grill. And our drinks menu features a huge selection of wines and beers alongside local gins. Harry’s is also the ideal spot for co-working or a morning coffee with hot and cold beverages available in the morning as well as lunch served from 12 noon.

H Spa

H Spa is a wonderfully calm sanctuary where you can enjoy some precious ‘me’ time. You can choose from a wide selection of treatments, pamper day packages and overnight stays, and we also offer leisure membership. As a resident of the hotel, you have access to our 15m swimming pool and well-equipped gym from check-in until 11:00am on your day of departure. We provide a robe and slippers to guests in our suites and those on our spa packages. Please note that children under 16 are not permitted to use the gym.

Our guests can use our tennis courts, subject to availability – please ask Reception for rackets and balls if you don’t have your own.

Our closest train station is Milton Keynes Central which is a 15-minute drive by car. This is a mainline station with regular links to London, Birmingham and Manchester. We recommend using or National rail website to find the latest train times.
