At Horwood House Hotel, caring for our countryside surroundings has always been a priority. We are proud to announce that we have become an ‘Investor in Wildlife’ with Berks, Bucks & Oxon Wildlife Trust (BBOWT), strengthening our commitment to protecting and enhancing biodiversity across our 38-acre estate.
Partnering with BBOWT
Through this membership, we will support BBOWT’s conservation work across Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire, while also welcoming their expertise here on our grounds. A forthcoming visit from the Trust will help us explore practical ways to make our estate even more wildlife-friendly, supporting our environmental, social and governance strategy.

Building on our sustainability journey
This partnership builds on a number of recent initiatives. In August 2025, we introduced the UK’s first ‘Butterfly Resort’ to highlight the decline of native species following the declaration of a butterfly emergency.
Earlier in the year, we partnered with Urban Bee-lievers to install a beehive on our grounds, welcoming 20,000 bees as part of our commitment to becoming more bee-friendly.
Becoming an Investor in Wildlife is an important next step for us. We look forward to working closely with BBOWT to help our estate continue to thrive as a haven for both guests and local wildlife.
